Nitrogen Generators
Sales and service of Nitrogen generator systems, for all flow rates and purity of nitrogen through pressure swing adsorption.
Nitrogen generators continuously produce high purity nitrogen from Compressed air. pipe in Air and pipe out nitrogen. Just connect a Air line to the inlet of the N2 generator package, connect the outlet to your nitrogen line and therefore the unit is ready for trouble free operation. endless supply of consistent purity is then available minutes after start-up, and it can expand in line along side your business needs.
Multi Pneumatics Ltd delivers bespoke, market-leading, high flow & high purity nitrogen generation solutions for various applications within industry sectors, like Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology, Chemicals, Electronics, Metals, Plastics, Rubbers and plenty of more.
On Site gas generation is a simple and reliable way which will save you money and provides you more control over your gas use. Companies who produce their own supply of on-site nitrogen can generate the utmost amount or as little N2 as they need , at a fraction of the worth of getting the gas delivered by an external source.
Multi Pneumatic's Industrial N2 gas generation systems provide a cheap , reliable and secure supply of nitrogen. The n2 generator’s working principle is based on Pressure Swing Adsorption(PSA process) technology, which entails carbon molecular sieves that selectively separate oxygen from nitrogen molecules.

BENEFITS OF ONSITE NITROGEN PRODUCTION
Supply on demandN2 generators are designed to run, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Having a continuing and reliable supply of nitrogen removes the inconvenience of running out of stored nitrogen or expecting deliveries during adverse weather. And by matching the demand, it reduces any potential downtime of the system.
|
Low operating costsThe cost of generating your own nitrogen is usually 20%-30% less in comparison to bottled nitrogen or bulk nitrogen storage. Generating your own nitrogen also eliminates ongoing costs for having gas delivered also as in house re-ordering processes.
|
Environmental responsibilityUsing a nitrogen blanket during beverage storage, pre and post bottling, prevents the expansion of bacteria and other microbes. Another use is purging air from pipes and hoses before bottling and to make sure oxygen isn't introduced during transport. It also can help to preserve taste and freshness.

Uses of a Nitrogen Generation systems
Food PackagingResidual oxygen within a package promotes bacterial growth and oxidation, which may compromise quality . Using nitrogen minimises the amount of oxygen present, therefore preserving quality and improving shelf life. this is often particularly relevant to coffee processing, meat packaging, dried foods processing and lettuce packaging.

Beverage applicationsUsing a nitrogen blanket during beverage storage, pre and post bottling, prevents the expansion of bacteria and other microbes. Another use is purging air from pipes and hoses before bottling and to make sure oxygen isn't introduced during transport. It also can help to preserve freshness.

Chemical processingBlanketing with nitrogen, is usually done to ensure the chemical integrity and maximise safety. Nitrogen tank blanketing controls the oxygen concentration and humidity within the vessel, protecting the system from contamination, degradation, and chemical process . The reduced oxygen level minimises the prospect of explosion.
|
ElectronicsUsing nitrogen to inert the atmosphere during soldering processes has become a generally accepted practice within the electronic assembly industry. no matter whether the soldering process is wave, selective or reflow, nitrogen improves the method by enhancing the joint quality and minimising defects.
|
Laser CuttingIn laser cutting the beam melts the fabric and high-pressure nitrogen forces the metal quickly to harden. As nitrogen features a shielding effect, the cutting area is protected against 'bluing' and oxidation.
|
PharmaceuticalsMost pharmaceutical companies have multiple nitrogen demands. The purity requirement varies from 99.5% to 99.9995%. Most pharmaceutical applications are blanketing, inerting and sparging.

How does a Nitrogen Generator work
When a N2 generator produces nitrogen gas, the generator doesn't create nitrogen by itself. Rather, nitrogen gas present in air (roughly 78% of air is nitrogen) is purified inside the generator, as any additional molecules, such as, oxygen, CO2 or water, are removed from the gas.
Nitrogen compressor technology enables this separation process by providing air to the system to purify either through membrane systems or through Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) system and filters.
One nitrogen compressor-based system is PSA technology. A PSA nitrogen generation uses an compressor to provide nitrogen gas from atmospheric air. A PSA nitrogen generator then passes nitrogen gas through a column crammed with Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS). Oxygen and other trace gasses get adsorbed by the CMS, allowing nitrogen to undergo .
For a PSA generation system, two CMS columns are required, where one column is depressurised whilst the opposite column sends the air through the sieve at pressure. PSA generation also includes a multistage prefiltration processes to get rid of dust particles and moisture from air before it reaches the CMS
Another nitrogen compressor-based system is membrane nitrogen generator, where air is compressed and skilled a membrane consisting of hollow fibres with pores sufficiently small to stop nitrogen from being pushed through along with oxygen. High purity nitrogen gas is then left behind
Our partner's, Oxywise and Nano nitrogen generation systems continuously produce high purity nitrogen from compressed air and eliminate the inconvenience of a delivered nitrogen supply. Installation is simple: pipe in compressed gas and pipe out nitrogen. Just connect a typical compressed gas line to the inlet of the generator, connect the outlet to your nitrogen line and therefore the unit is prepared for trouble free operation.
The Nitrogen system is designed to operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week
.
These generators are free standing, housed in a cabinet or skid mounted, depending on the application. Standard features include high efficiency coalescing prefilters with automatic drains, activated charcoal adsorption (when required), nitrogen tank and a 0.01 micron final membrane filter. There is also a variety of oxygen monitors to live the oxygen concentration of the nitrogen stream to satisfy your application requirements.
So you need nitrogen in your plant!
With rising fuel and energy costs, the cost of liquid nitrogen is going up and is making it much easier to justify the purchase of a nitrogen generator in a wide range of purities and pressures. In a high percentage of cases, generating your own nitrogen using commercially available equipment is a very cost effective alternative to purchasing liquid nitrogen or cylinder nitrogen from traditional supply sources like the industrial gas companies. In some cases, the return on investment (ROI) ranges from six months to 2 years, but ROI can range, depending on several factors, to several years while still being a good investment.
If you are considering purchasing a nitrogen generator for your facility the first question to settle is what nitrogen purity you actually need for your application and facility. Nitrogen purity is generally expressed as a percent, such as 99% Nitrogen (which means 1% Oxygen with the balance nitrogen and other inert gas). In some high purity cases, it may be expressed as PPM Oxygen remaining in the product gas. 10 PPMV is the same as 99.999% pure nitrogen. 10,000 PPM equals 1% O2. The answer to the purity question can make or break a project’s budget and have a huge impact on the amount of electricity used. There are many factors to be considered. First there are some basic dynamics common to self-generated nitrogen gas that should be considered.
An investment that pays offA nitrogen generation system can reduce costs by up to 90% when compared to traditional methods of supply. If a company using liquid nitrogen was to convert to gas generation technology, the new system could be expected to pay for itself in typically less than two years. For a company using cylinders, the payback period could be even earlier - less than twelve months in many cases.
